Excellent HIKING TRAILS meander around the De Kelders area. Heidehof Fynbos Nature Trails offer hikes in an area which boasts a large variety of fauna and flora associated with fynbos eco systems. Several species of protea and erica are endemic to the area and the hilly terrain consists of fossilised dunes. Excellent bird watching is also to be had in the area. The rocky limestone surface has enabled this ecosystem to survive the farming practices which have destroyed similar environments.
